BACKGROUND

The Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGE&T) under Ministry of Labour & Employment launched the Women's Vocational Programme in 1977. A Women's Training Directorate set up at DGE&T is responsible for formulating & pursuing long term policies related to Women's Vocational Training in the country. This is done through an Institutional Network comprising of one national institute (NVTI) at Noida, and ten regional Institutes, out of which RVTI, Jaipur is one.   

 

  

 

OBJECTIVES

-to organise skill training program for women

-to organise placement and follow up services.

- to arrange special training programs for trainers of vocational training institute and in-service workers from industries.

-to maintain industry linkages.

 
     

 

THE INSTITUTE

RVTI For Women, Jaipur was established in 1994 and started functioning in the premises of Women's ITI building  at Banipark. At present the institute is  functioning in a campus of 7 acres of land provided by Rajasthan Government to the Government of India. This comprises of Administration-Workshop-Classroom Block, Girls Hostel, Guest House and Staff Quarters.

The institute is headed by qualified, trained and experienced  Assistant Director of Training and faculty members who are trained in the respective fields for providing vocational training. Further the institute has been provided with well equipped workshops for developing the requisite skills in the trainees.
